BMW's N54 oil-pan specification lists the M12x1.5 drain plug at 25 Nm / 18.4 ft-lb. The separate oil-filter specification lists the filter cap at the same 25 Nm / 18.4 ft-lb.

N54 spark-plug torque
BMW's N54 spark-plug tool documentation specifies a 23 Nm / 17.0 ft-lb torque limiter. See the BMW TIS-derived N54 spark-plug documentation.
For a stock-replacement service, Turner's Bosch ZGR6STE2 N54 spark-plug set is specifically cataloged for N54 applications including the E9x 335i/335xi, E60 535i/535xi and E89 Z4 sDrive35i/sDrive35is. Modified engines may require a different plug or gap.
N54 valve-cover torque specs
The N54 plastic valve cover incorporates crankcase-ventilation hardware and is a familiar source of oil and vacuum leaks. BMW specifies only 8.5 Nm / 75.2 in-lb for the M6 cover fasteners.

N54 oil-filter-housing and turbo oil-line torque specs
The oil-filter-housing gasket is a high-value N54 maintenance job because leakage can contaminate the accessory-belt area. FCP Euro's N52/N54 oil-filter-housing procedure also cautions against overtightening the cast-aluminum components.

N54 direct-injection fuel-system torque specs
